Lost at the docks - 24th March 1941

 Dick and Chotie do seem to have met up on Sunday 23^rd March 1941

Monday Eve

My Darling Chotie,

                             Just a brief, brief note to let you know that I did arrive back safely, at about 2.30 this morning.

      I went to sleep and failed to get out at the central, and had to get out at the Docks!  I had no idea of the way back and there was of course no one about.  I wandered for hours around the most terrible dockside areas but eventually made it.

         Well, Honey, I haven’t a minute to spare, so I’m afraid I must close here.

            Incidentally can you get hold of anyone of the family and get them to send my birth certificate per return.  It’s rather important.

24th March 1941 – British Somaliland now restored to the Allies.

25^th March 1941 - Yugoslavia signed the Tripartite Pact to join the Axis powers but two days later their government was overthrown and left the Pact.
