R.I.P. Don Aiken

Sadly Don Aiken, a veteran of the 61st Reconnaissance Regiment, passed away last Saturday 10th June.

This photo is of Don and fellow veteran Eric Postles enjoying their visit to the 61st Reconnaissance Living History Group, where they were honoured guests.

Don recorded his war experiences for the BBC People's War Project and kindly let me use them in this blog.  After the war he re-joined the Blackpool Fire Service and rose to the position of Divisional Officer.

May he rest in peace with his many comrades.
